‘Uicheon Light Festival’ to be held from March 30 to April 5 along Uicheon (Suyu Bridge to Ui Bridge)
A festival venue for the whole family to enjoy with light sculptures exhibition, celebratory performances, and more

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will hold the ‘2023 Uicheon Light Festival’ for one week from March 30 to April 5 along Uicheon (from Suyu Bridge to Ui Bridge).
This year’s festival, under the theme ‘A Night Walk on the Cherry Blossom Path Pleasing the Five Senses,’ features various LED light sculptures installed at eye level for visitors, allowing residents to enjoy the festival up close.
The ‘Uicheon Light Festival,’ where light, flowers, and music come together, will transform the Uicheon area into a fantastic garden of light with ▲LED light artworks, ▲various photo zones for the whole family to enjoy, ▲a cherry blossom night walk path illuminated to make the cherry blossoms shine even more beautifully, and ▲light sculptures planned and created by local artists, residents, students, and children.
On the third day of the festival, April 1 at 7 PM, a lighting ceremony will be held on the Uicheon riverside stage. The event will feature a lighting performance, singer ‘Jo Hang-jo,’ b-boy dance performances, and congratulatory performances by local artists from various fields, delighting the eyes and ears of festival visitors. During the festival, the lighting hours will be from 6 PM to 10 PM.
Additionally, various experiential events such as hanging wish flower pouches to pray for the year’s hopes and a Dobongsan craft beer tasting will satisfy visitors’ five senses.

Yeonhui Forest Rest Area is busy preparing to welcome springtime visitors
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 27th that Ansan (鞍山) Yeonhui Forest Rest Area is busy preparing to welcome springtime visitors.
Ansan is a mountain located in the center of Seodaemun-gu, loved by many citizens for its beautiful scenery and fragrance of cherry trees, tulips, herbs, and more every spring.
At Yeonhui Forest Rest Area, 17,000 bulbs of tulips, daffodils, and muscari planted last fall, along with 123 cherry trees, are expected to bloom next month.
In the ‘Herb Garden’ themed flower bed within Yeonhui Forest Rest Area, spring-representative plants such as verbena and viola have been planted so that citizens can fully feel the spring season.
Especially this year, cherry trees with different blooming periods have been planted at the entrance of Ansan to provide beautiful scenery even after the tulip flowers have faded.
Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “After several years, we welcome spring without masks. Ansan (鞍山) Yeonhui Forest Rest Area, boasting splendid scenery, is expected to offer many citizens the joy and relaxation of being close to nature.”
Gwangjin-gu holds ‘Visiting Business Briefings for Single-Person Household Support Centers’ targeting Dong Community Centers
Starting with Jayang 1-dong Community Center and ending with Junggok 2-dong Community Center by April 6
Focus on introducing the center established last December, explaining business directions, and Q&A sessions
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will hold ‘Visiting Business Briefings for Single-Person Household Support Centers’ until April 6.
The district is holding these visiting business briefings at Dong community centers to raise awareness and interest in the Gwangjin-gu Single-Person Household Support Center and to encourage participation in the various projects and programs operated by the center.
Established last December, the Single-Person Household Support Center was created to help the rapidly increasing single-person households maintain healthy daily lives and participate socially. Two centers were opened: Center 1 in Jayang 4-dong and Center 2 in Junggok 3-dong. Center 1 operates Monday through Saturday, and Center 2 operates Monday through Friday.
The Single-Person Household Support Centers mainly provide ▲counseling for psychological and emotional difficulties ▲education and leisure programs (cooking, performances, cultural arts, employment, entrepreneurship, etc.) ▲sharing of spaces and items (camping gear, daily health products, tools, etc.) ▲support for social networks.
The business briefings, conducted at a total of 15 Dong community centers, started on the 21st at Jayang 1-dong Community Center and will conclude on April 6 at Junggok 2-dong Community Center.
The main contents of the briefings include ▲introduction of the center ▲explanation of the center’s business directions for 2023 ▲Q&A related to the center. Dong community centers, related organizations, general residents, and single-person households participate to discuss the operation and use of the Single-Person Household Support Center.
Additionally, on the 30th at 7 PM, a ‘Single-Person Household Business Briefing’ will be held at Gwangjin-gu Single-Person Household Support Center 1 to introduce various projects targeting single-person households in Seoul’s living areas. Pre-registration is currently open online, and detailed information can be found on the center’s website.
