"Japan to Discuss Cryptocurrency User Protection and Regulation at May G7 Summit... Joint Declaration Planned"

The Japanese government is reportedly pushing to include regulations aimed at protecting cryptocurrency users in a joint declaration at the upcoming Group of Seven (G7) summit to be held in Hiroshima this May, Kyodo News reported on the 26th.

According to the Kyodo News report, the G7 is expected to reach an agreement on cryptocurrency regulations at the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting scheduled for May 11-13 in Niigata, and then continue discussions at the summit from May 19-21.

Prior to this, the impact of cryptocurrencies on the financial system is also expected to be on the agenda at the Group of Twenty (G20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting to be held in Washington, D.C. in mid-next month.

Kyodo News stated, "With banks in the United States repeatedly failing and economic credit issues emerging, the G7 is taking a leading role in stabilizing the financial system."
