A Man in His 60s Falls to Death While Fleeing from Fine Enforcement Investigator

A man in his 60s who was fined on criminal charges died after falling from a building while trying to escape from a prosecutor's investigator enforcing the fine.

According to the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul on the 25th, Mr. A fell from the third floor of a multi-family house in Sinjeong-dong, Yangcheon-gu, at around 10:30 a.m. the previous day. He was taken to the hospital following a passerby's report but ultimately died.

Mr. A, who was prosecuted for violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes related to bad checks and was sentenced to a fine of 5 million won, was a fugitive who fled without paying the fine. The police stated that when the investigator came to enforce the fine and knocked on the door, he jumped out of the window.
