At the '2023 Construction Technicians Day Commemoration Ceremony' held at the Seoul Construction Hall on the same day, Prime Minister Han said, "The government is not turning a blind eye to injustice and illegality at construction sites and is reforming them one by one according to the strict principles of law."
He emphasized, "In particular, we will do our best to strengthen the crackdown system on illegal subcontracting activities and prevent delayed payments for construction fees so that construction technicians working on site can be reliably protected."
He added, "Industrial accidents must be prevented and the safety of construction technicians must be guaranteed," and stated, "The government will establish a 'Construction Site Safety Accident Reduction Roadmap' within this year to firmly build a safety management system. We will also innovate infrastructure for industrial accident prevention, such as the development of smart safety devices."
Prime Minister Han also emphasized that the government aims to achieve annual overseas construction orders of 50 billion dollars by 2027 and become one of the world's top four construction powers.
