On the 23rd, Samsung Electronics held a 'Win-Win Cooperation Day' at the Ramada Hotel in Suwon, inviting representatives from 208 member companies of the Partner Council (Hyopseonghoe). Samsung executives and Hyopseonghoe members attending the event agreed to establish and implement mid- to long-term plans related to AI-based smart factories and low-carbon green growth ESG management. On the same day, LG Electronics held a regular general meeting of partners at the Changwon R&D (Research and Development) Center, inviting 84 partners to share know-how related to ESG management.
Notably, both companies have strengthened their ESG management education programs. Samsung Electronics established 22 new ESG-related courses this year at the Win-Win Cooperation Academy Education Center. These courses cover greenhouse gas reduction, supply chain due diligence response, and fair trade policies. An 'ESG Support' function was newly created within the Academy Consulting Center to assist partners with practical greenhouse gas reduction efforts. Samsung Electronics has created about 500 courses at the Academy Education Center and provides them free of charge to partner companies. As of 2021, 18,725 people have completed these courses. Kim Young-jae, CEO of Daeduk Electronics and chairman of Samsung Electronics' Hyopseonghoe, stated, "We must meticulously prepare AI-based smart factories and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management based on low-carbon green growth according to mid- to long-term plans."

Additionally, they will expand ESG risk inspection activities related to fire and safety accidents and ESG capability enhancement activities, which were previously conducted for first- and second-tier partners, to include third-tier partners as well. Wang Cheol-min, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics Global Operations Center, said, "We see securing partner competitiveness as a core task of win-win cooperation," adding, "We will strengthen the capabilities necessary for sustainable growth and preparing for the future together with our partners."
