Prime Minister Han Duck-soo "Will Expand Childcare and Strengthen Childcare Services"
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo stated on the 24th, "Providing non-discriminatory childcare services for multicultural children is a natural responsibility of the state."
During his visit to Guro Samsung Daycare Center on the same day, Prime Minister Han said, "We will continue efforts such as expanding hourly childcare and strengthening child care services so that parents can trust and leave their children at any time."
Currently, the government aims to increase the number of hourly childcare providers to at least one per eup, myeon, and dong after 2024. The support hours for child care services will also be increased from 840 hours to 960 hours per year.

At a discussion with daycare center officials, he emphasized, "Low birthrate is caused by complex factors such as jobs, housing, education, childcare, and care, but it is important to first establish childcare and care environments that young people can feel directly."
Prime Minister Han also noted that the Samsung Welfare Foundation is developing and distributing high-quality childcare programs to private daycare centers like Guro Samsung Daycare Center as part of its social contribution, and urged companies to engage in more social contribution activities to improve childcare and care environments.
Meanwhile, this visit was made to listen to opinions from daycare center officials, parents, and socially responsible companies on the ground to reflect them in policies to overcome the low birthrate crisis.
The event was attended by Lee Ki-il, First Vice Minister of Health and Welfare, Eom Euishik, Deputy Mayor of Guro District, Kim Jeong-yeon, Director of Guro Samsung Daycare Center, Park Seung-hee, President of Samsung Electronics CR, Han Seung-hwan, CEO of Samsung Life Public Welfare Foundation, and Kim Seong-won, CEO of Samsung Welfare Foundation.
