Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Jin-su) practiced warm life-sharing by holding a 'Love Sharing Blood Donation Event' at the Gwangyang Steelworks Welfare Center and Production Integrated Control Center on the 22nd.
Since 1998, Gwangyang Steelworks has independently held the 'Love Sharing Blood Donation Event' every month for 26 years, and was awarded the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation in 2015 and 2021 for its efforts in fostering a blood donation culture.

This blood donation event was held to support the local community facing difficulties in blood supply due to a decrease in the eligible blood donor population caused by low birth rates and population aging.
Gwangyang Steelworks stationed blood donation buses at two locations, the Production Integrated Control Center and the Welfare Center, to enable more employees to conveniently participate in blood donation.
Additionally, 57 executives and employees participated in the blood donation, and those who were unable to donate blood contributed by donating blood donation certificates they had received from past donations to help with the blood supply.
The number of participants in the blood donation event held on the 22nd was 57, reaching a cumulative total of 26,475 people, and a total of 26 blood donation certificates were donated, bringing the total number of donated certificates to 11,062.
One Gwangyang Steelworks employee who participated in the blood donation said, "I participated in blood donation with the thought that my small contribution could be a new life for someone," and added, "As long as my health permits, I want to continue donating blood steadily to help my neighbors."
Meanwhile, Gwangyang Steelworks is making efforts to practice being a company that works with the local community by presenting a model where businesses and society develop together, not only through blood donation events but also by providing on-site cardiopulmonary resuscitation education for local residents and installing fire detectors to coexist and prosper with the community.
