Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corporation (KOMSCO) is launching the 4th edition of the Angel's Talent commemorative medal. The Angel's Talent commemorative medal is produced and released through collaboration between KOMSCO and artists with Savant Syndrome.
Savant Syndrome refers to a phenomenon where individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities demonstrate extraordinary talents in areas such as memory, music, and art.

In 2019, KOMSCO signed an agreement with KIMU Co., Ltd., which employs artists with Savant Syndrome, to release the Angel's Talent commemorative medals.
Starting with the Angel's Zodiac medal in 2019, followed by the Wallet Art Gallery series in 2020, and the Angel's Talent Constellation medal in 2021, KOMSCO has consecutively launched these commemorative medals.
This year’s commemorative medal, the 4th edition, is themed "Reply Korea." The medal captures the growth story of the Republic of Korea from 1970 to 2010.
Each era is represented by subjects such as automobiles in 1976, construction in 1985, shipbuilding in 1993, semiconductors in 2000, and K-POP in 2010, with artworks by Savant Syndrome artists featured on the cards.
The concept is to pay respect to the senior generation who led the industries driving Korea’s economic growth, inspire pride in the younger generation living in the present, and convey a hopeful message to stand up toward the future.
Notably, this year the card size has been enlarged (85×110mm) and includes an original poem, enhancing the artistic value, according to KOMSCO.
The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation collaborated with a savant syndrome artist to launch and unveil the "Reply Korea Commemorative Medal." The "Reply Korea Commemorative Medal" is made of 5g of pure gold, with KOMSCO guaranteeing a purity of 99.99%. The selling price (including VAT) is 583,000 KRW per piece. Purchases are available from the 23rd via KOMSCO’s online shopping mall.
Previously, KOMSCO generated sales of 2.3 billion KRW from the sales of the 1st to 3rd commemorative medals, of which 5% (120 million KRW) was provided to KIMU to support the independence and employment of Savant Syndrome designers.
In fact, KIMU has used part of the commemorative medal sales revenue to directly and indirectly employ 27 Savant Syndrome designers.
KOMSCO President Ban Jang-sik stated, “We will continue to release and expand the Angel's Talent commemorative medals so that the talents of Savant Syndrome artists can be fully demonstrated and a virtuous cycle of job creation through a portion of sales revenue continues.”
