Ulleung-gun, Clean Island Campaign... No Illegal Dumping! Establishing Proper Waste Separation

Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, conducted a street campaign from the 21st to the 22nd to eradicate illegal dumping of household waste and establish a proper culture of waste separation and disposal.


This event was held to prevent habitual illegal dumping of waste and to promote proper waste separation methods that have not yet been fully established, aiming to ensure proper waste sorting practices.

Ulleung-gun, Clean Island Campaign... No Illegal Dumping! Establishing Proper Waste Separation Ulleung-gun employees and members of local organizations are conducting a street campaign to eradicate illegal dumping and establish a proper waste separation culture.

About 50 participants, including the Ulleung-gun governor, employees from the Environmental Sanitation Division, sanitation workers, the Ulleung-gun Saemaul Association, and the Women's Association Council, marched through the busy areas of Dodong and Jeodong, distributing informational materials on waste separation methods to residents and merchants and encouraging active participation.


Additionally, banners were installed in the towns and townships, and efforts to eradicate illegal dumping will continue through focused CCTV monitoring and the imposition of fines.


Nam Han-kwon, governor of Ulleung-gun, expressed his commitment to leading the creation of a clean Ulleungdo and called for residents' participation and cooperation.
