Promoting Busan Travel Using Visit Busan Pass for Japan and Greater China Markets

Busan City and the Busan Tourism Organization are gearing up to promote the “Visit Busan Pass” by producing a guide tour-style entertainment program called “Naedol Tour - Global Friends” (hereinafter Naedol Tour), featuring K-pop idols and popular overseas influencers, targeting their primary markets, Japan and Greater China, ahead of the full recovery of the tourism market.

The “Visit Busan Pass” is a free pass-type tourism ticket developed to improve convenience for foreign individual tourists visiting the international tourism city of Busan. It began a pilot operation in February and has sold over 4,000 passes as of March.

By purchasing just one pass (24-hour or 48-hour), tourists can enter major tourist attractions free of charge without additional payment and enjoy various benefits such as discounts at affiliated stores including F&B (Food & Beverage) outlets.

First, targeting Japan, the “Naedol Tour” (Japan edition), which will air its first episode on the 23rd, features Chorong and Bomi, members of the girl group Apink with a global fandom, acting as one-day guides for Japanese popular influencer Onuma Rui’s trip to Busan.

The cast will vividly introduce how to purchase the foreigner-exclusive Visit Busan Pass and how to enter affiliated stores.

In particular, the program will showcase visits to various Visit Busan Pass affiliated stores that appeal to the Instagram tastes of Japanese people in their 20s and 30s, including Ryan Holiday in Busan (free affiliation), Busan X The Sky (free affiliation), Yachtallae (discount affiliation), The Bay 101 Cafe Side (discount affiliation), and Haeundae souvenir shops (discount affiliation).

The program will be released with Japanese subtitles on March 23 and 30, with two 15-minute episodes on the YouTube Wonder K Original channel (a K-pop content channel with 1.96 million subscribers).

Additionally, a review event for the teaser video released on the 21st is being held on the official Visit Busan Pass social media (SNS) channels until the 29th, with 10 winners receiving an Apink signed CD.

After the main video release, further review events (March 29) and quiz events (scheduled for March 31) are planned.

The “Visit Busan Pass” is currently available for purchase on the official website and online travel agencies (such as KKday, Klook, Trip.com), with limited-time launch events (transportation fee recharge) and online travel agency-linked discount promotions ongoing during the pilot operation period.

Future plans include package deals linked with airline tickets, and information about Visit Busan Pass sales locations, affiliated stores, and various promotions can be found on the official website and official social media channels such as Instagram and Facebook.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “With the Japanese Golden Week holiday (April 29 to May 5) approaching, the Visit Busan Pass will serve as a travel guide introducing various tourist facilities throughout Busan and facilitating convenient visits for foreign tourists planning overseas trips. We expect it to become an attractive marketing item that contributes to revitalizing the local economy through attracting inbound tourists.”

In April, targeting Greater China, a Naedol Tour featuring a K-pop boy idol group and Taiwanese influencers will be produced, capturing a Visit Busan Pass old downtown travel story while riding a city tour bus.
