Attending today's signing ceremony are Lee Seong-gwon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, Lee Bok-gi, CEO of WantedLab, and Jeong Moon-seop, Director of the Information Industry Promotion Agency.

WantedLab (located in Songpa-gu, Seoul) was established in 2015 and currently has 3 million job seekers and about 20,000 companies as members.

It provides various HR services including the AI matching recruitment platform "Wanted," career education, freelancer matching, and HR (Human Resources) solutions, and was listed on KOSDAQ in August 2021.

HR solutions is a comprehensive term referring to all technologies used by companies to manage their workforce.

This business agreement was prepared to strengthen the employment capabilities of Busan Digital Innovation Academy trainees (graduates), recognize the need for talent matching between job-seeking youth and hiring companies, and cooperate in nurturing software talent and supporting recruitment for excellent companies with demand for digital professionals by utilizing the capabilities and foundations of each institution.

Details include ▲ Busan City and the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency will cooperate in registering trainees (graduates) who participated in the Busan Digital Innovation Academy curriculum in WantedLab’s employment monitoring system ▲ WantedLab will pay a special incentive of 1 million KRW to trainees hired by companies on the WantedLab platform, and waive the recruitment fee (7% of the hired youth’s annual salary) for Busan companies that hire Busan Digital Innovation Academy trainees (graduates) after participating in Busan City projects, with all parties actively cooperating.

The Busan Digital Innovation Academy (BDIA) is a recruitment-linked education project promoted by Busan City to cultivate high-level talent in the information and communication technology field and prevent the outflow of talent outside the region.

In response to the recent surge in software (SW) workforce demand due to accelerated digital transformation, education is provided to job seekers in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, aiming to nurture 10,000 specialized professionals in new industry technologies (artificial intelligence, cloud, big data, etc.) over five years from 2022 to 2026.

Launched as a pilot project in 2021, a total of 373 people were trained, with 239 successfully employed (employment rate 64.1%). In 2022, 1,355 people were trained (1,145 graduated as of the end of February 2023, 210 currently in training), and the goal for 2023 is 2,000 trainees.

The 2023 annual training schedule can be found on the Busan Digital Innovation Academy website, where applications for training can be submitted. For detailed inquiries, contact the Talent Development Team at the Busan Information Industry Promotion Agency.

Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Lee Seong-gwon said, “We have made various efforts to connect Busan Digital Innovation Academy trainees (graduates) with employment by attracting excellent training institutions and large corporations in the metropolitan area, operating customized recruitment-confirmed training courses, and holding job fairs, achieving results. This agreement is a great boost for linking the digital talents carefully nurtured at the academy with employment by cooperating with an AI-based employment matching specialist company. We hope academy trainees (graduates) can find jobs at their desired companies, and companies can hire excellent talent as a driving force.”
