Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, who called for dialogue to resolve the Russia-Ukraine war during their summit, were reported by major foreign media on the 22nd (local time) that a high school located on the outskirts of Kyiv, Ukraine, was attacked by Russian airstrikes.
According to reports, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service announced that a high school in Zhyzhychiv, about 80 km from Kyiv, was attacked by Russian drones. Some buildings partially collapsed due to the airstrike, resulting in 4 deaths and 7 injuries.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized, "In just one night, Russia committed terrorism against Ukraine," adding, "Whenever someone in Moscow tries to hear the word peace, such criminal attack orders are issued."
Meanwhile, President Xi and President Putin held a summit in Moscow the previous day. President Xi stated, "I support peace and dialogue," and President Putin also said that the peace plan announced by China last month could serve as a basis for resolving the situation. China had previously proposed a peace plan focusing on resuming dialogue and seeking a ceasefire.
