Pukyong National University Professor Kim Do-hoon Leads Agricultural Special Committee's Future Fisheries Special Committee

Professor Kim Do-hoon, majoring in Marine Fisheries Management at the National Pukyong National University, was appointed as the Chair of the Future Fisheries Special Committee under the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Communities (Nongteukwi) on the 22nd. His term is one year, until March 2024.

The Future Fisheries Special Committee within Nongteukwi is an organization that promotes expert discussions on issues related to the fisheries industry and fishing village fishermen, consisting of 15 members including the chair and committee members.

Professor Kim Do-hoon is currently active as a member of the Operating Review Committee of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' responsible operating agencies and as an expert member of the Economic Division of the Presidential Committee on Sustainable Development.

Until last year, he served as the vice-chair of the Fisheries Innovation Subcommittee of Nongteukwi and as a private member of the Ministry of Economy and Finance's Fiscal Project Evaluation Committee.

The Future Fisheries Special Committee held its first meeting on the 22nd at Vertex Hall in the Vertex Korea Business Center in Seoul, where the chair and members were appointed, and the committee's operation plan was reported and discussed.

On that day, along with Chair Professor Kim Do-hoon, Professor Park Jeong-hwan of the Department of Applied Life Sciences in Aquaculture at Pukyong National University and Professor Lee Heon-dong of the Department of Resource and Environmental Economics were appointed as committee members.
