Busan Station-International Passenger Terminal Connected... BPA Opens Elevated Pedestrian Walkway

Busan Port Authority (BPA) will open the entire aerial walkway connecting Busan Station and Busan Port International Passenger Terminal starting from the 23rd.

The aerial walkway is a facility designed to improve accessibility to the Bukhang redevelopment area, linking Busan Station to the waterfront park within the Bukhang redevelopment area and the International Passenger Terminal.

BPA first opened the section between Busan Station and the waterfront park in May 2022, and this time has additionally opened the section between the waterfront park and the International Passenger Terminal.

The newly opened section of the aerial walkway is 263 meters long and 6.8 meters wide, equipped with bi-directional moving walkways (electric sidewalks).

Also, considering the convenience of passengers using the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal according to the shipping schedules of carriers, it will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

BPA explained that although the aerial walkway is not yet fully completed, it was opened first to enhance the convenience of the increasing number of international passenger terminal users following the resumption of passenger ship operations on the Korea-Japan route and to smoothly respond to the 2030 Expo inspection team visit.

Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, said, “With the full opening of the aerial walkway, the inconvenience and risk of traffic accidents for terminal users and carrier personnel who previously used the crosswalk in front of the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal have been greatly reduced,” adding, “We expect it will also help revitalize the waterfront park and the passenger terminal.”
