Sales Doubled... Pukyong National University Students Win Excellence Award in Digital Marketing Activities

Local small business owners have attracted attention for doubling their sales through digital marketing support provided by students from Pukyong National University, showcasing a successful regional win-win cooperation case.

The student team of Kim Nayoung, Kim Nahyun, and Kim Narim from Pukyong National University recently received the Excellence Supporters Award at the 'Digital Advertising Special Seminar' hosted by Naver, the Korean Advertising Association, the Korean Advertising and Public Relations Association, and the Korean Consumer Advertising Psychology Association.

The students were recognized for their outstanding performance in the project 'SME Digital Marketing Supporters,' conducted last year by Naver and the three associations to assist local small business owners in digital transformation.

The Pukyong National University students provided digital marketing support to ‘Ido Gonggam,’ a camping tent specialty company with excellent products but lacking marketing experience and manpower.

In November last year, they conducted live commerce (real-time broadcast sales) three times on the platform provided by Naver, generating sales exceeding 23 million KRW. This was a result of more than doubling sales compared to before the live commerce events.

The Pukyong students conducted live commerce outdoors together with the CEO of Ido Gonggam, demonstrating tent installation firsthand, which received positive responses. Each live commerce session was watched by approximately 1,600 viewers.

They designed projects and received advice for effective digital marketing activities through ‘Content Marketing,’ a regular course in the Human ICT Convergence major at Pukyong National University, enhancing the support’s effectiveness.

Kim Byungkyu, CEO of Ido Gonggam, said, “Challenging digital marketing, which was difficult to approach easily, was a great opportunity to increase sales and lay the foundation for establishing a long-term digital marketing strategy.”

Professor Kim Junghwan of Pukyong National University, who supported the activities, said, “Through this activity, students directly carried out digital marketing for business owners, and local small business owners confirmed the potential of digital transformation, marking a step forward. We will continue to create win-win cooperation cases.”
