Launch of Livelihood 4 Major Bombs Response Team

The Democratic Party's Committee for the Livelihood and Economic Crisis emphasized high inflation, high interest rates, jeonse fraud, and employment difficulties as the 'four major livelihood bombs' and formed a response team. The purpose is to respond to livelihood issues on behalf of the government and fulfill the role of a 'livelihood party.'

On the 22nd, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, opened the 'Four Major Livelihood Bombs Response Team' launch ceremony at the National Assembly by stating, "The crisis surrounding the livelihood economy is growing larger than ever," and "This year, the trade deficit has exceeded 245%. March has not even passed yet, but it has already surpassed half of last year's deficit."

He continued, "Nevertheless, the government is effectively doing nothing to respond to the crisis, saying it will improve over time," and directly criticized, "This irresponsible attitude of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration is a greater threat." Lee said, "The second IMF crisis is openly being mentioned," and added, "At times like this, the Democratic Party, as the majority party, must take the lead in addressing the livelihood crisis."

Amid the recent decline in President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval ratings for state affairs management, this is analyzed as an effort to divert attention from Lee's judicial risks. Recently, the Democratic Party has been emphasizing the 'economic crisis' and 'livelihood bills' while promoting various policies.

The response team plans to analyze government measures and propose alternatives in four areas: inflation (Go Yong-jin), interest rates (Yoo Dong-su), real estate (Maeng Seong-gyu), and employment (Kim Young-jin). Field meetings and the Democratic Party's alternative legislation are being discussed. Kim Tae-nyeon, a Democratic Party lawmaker and chair of the Committee for the Livelihood and Economic Crisis, pointed out, "Our economy is in crisis," and said, "Currently, the Yoon government has not found a way to overcome the crisis. Although it is difficult now, there is great concern that it could become even more difficult given the Yoon administration's capability and attitude."

He added, "Although the Democratic Party is in opposition, we intend to act as a responsible public party that takes one step ahead of the government in inspecting, warning, and competently proposing policy alternatives regarding the livelihood economy to take responsibility for the people's lives."
