On May 1, a memorial ceremony and commemorative performance will be held at the Boseong Pansori Sacred Site to honor the master singers who preserved the legacy of Boseong Sori and nurtured future generations.

Side events include traditional instrument making, traditional game experiences, and sales events at the Boseong Joomakjip (traditional tavern).

Those wishing to participate should submit their application forms and supporting documents to the Seopyeonje Boseong Sori Festival Promotion Committee by 6 p.m. on April 24.

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun has played a pivotal role in the development of Korean traditional music as the birthplace of many master Pansori singers, including Park Yujeon, the founder of Seopyeonje, and Jeong Eungmin, who established Boseong Sori, as well as Jeong Gwonjin, Park Chunsung, Seong Woo-hyang, Jo Sanghyun, and Seong Changsoon.

Since 1998, Boseong has been hosting the Seopyeonje Boseong Sori Festival annually, striving to discover talent through national competitions and to continue the legacy of Pansori.
