Golf distance measuring device 'Voice Caddie' announced on the 22nd the launch of the 'Y1 Lite,' which includes only the necessary features at a reasonable price.
The Y1 Lite lowers the consumer price while incorporating all essential features found in the existing Y1, allowing golfers to view real-time pin location (APL) yardage books. However, unlike the Y1, which is equipped with LTE communication enabling the use of APL services and course updates without a separate Wi-Fi connection, the Y1 Lite does not have LTE. Instead, users can connect to Wi-Fi via phone tethering to download APL and the latest golf courses. Although the 3D Green View feature is excluded, it still displays green elevation through 58 levels of green undulation.

The Y1 Lite retains the smart putt view feature, a key advantage of the APL yardage book. Through the APL+ function, it provides information such as putt lines, aiming, and the lie around the hole cup, similar to what can be seen in screen golf. The company explains that by drawing a line from the ball to the hole cup on the 4.3-inch Y1 Lite screen, it helps users judge the direction and distance of their putts. It also supports smart course view, allowing course analysis through zooming in and out.
