WSI Partners with US-based Jimbee for Distribution... Targeting the Spinal Implant Market

WSI announced on the 22nd that it has signed a distribution agreement with Zimbi Korea to distribute spinal implants from the U.S. implant manufacturer ZimVie in the domestic market.

ZimVie is a Nasdaq-listed company specializing in spinal and dental implants. It is an independent company spun off from Zimmer Biomet, which holds the second-largest market share in the global orthopedic medical device market. ZimVie’s representative spinal products include ▲ the cervical artificial disc Mobi-C® ▲ the Tether™ implant for pediatric and adolescent scoliosis that minimizes side effects ▲ and Vital™, which enables minimally invasive fixation. Last year, the company recorded sales of approximately $914 million (about 1.195 trillion KRW).

Through the distribution agreement, WSI has secured a growth foundation to stably supply spinal implants to the domestic market based on its specialized sales expertise in the spinal field. Additionally, the partnership contract for supplying local hemostatic products with Baxter has also been extended.

Song Gi-taek, CEO of Zimbi Korea, said, "By signing a contract with WSI, which has formed a network with over 400 specialized spinal hospitals domestically, we will be able to supply ZimVie’s spinal products stably."

Park Jung-seop, CEO of WSI, explained, "We will introduce ZimVie’s spinal products, which have been clinically verified overseas over many years, to the domestic market," adding, "We expect this to contribute to the advancement of spinal treatment in Korea." He further added, "WSI has a complete lineup of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, medical consumables, and medical implant products related to spinal surgery."
