Jang Hyun-guk, CEO of Wemade, delivered a keynote speech on the 21st (local time) at 'GDC 2023' (Game Developers Conference) titled "The Future of Games: Beyond Intergame Play."

CEO Jang said about blockchain technology, "Blockchain is not a technology that makes boring games fun, but a technology that makes fun games even more enjoyable," adding, "Its role in games is to multiply fun by connecting a well-designed in-game economy to the real economy through game tokens and NFTs."

He continued, "By applying blockchain technology to games to create game tokens and NFTs, and forming tokenomics through trading inside and outside the game, games will become much more enjoyable," and introduced, "On the blockchain game platform 'Wemix Play,' anyone can create new games using the game tokens and NFTs of 'Mir4.'"

He stated, "All games exist independently like individual islands, but blockchain technology will connect all games into one," and added, "The massive ecosystem formed by connecting different games, services, and reality through intergame economy and intergame play is the metaverse."

CEO Jang concluded his keynote by saying, "Wemade will do its best to support any game developer interested in blockchain technology to create excellent blockchain games."
