Doosan Enerbility to Supply 60 Billion KRW Worth of LNG Power Generation Equipment to Uzbekistan

On the 22nd, Doosan Enerbility announced that it received a Notice to Proceed (NTP) for the supply of equipment for the ‘Sirdarya Phase 2 Natural Gas Power Plant’ in Uzbekistan from the Chinese EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company Harbin Electric. The contract amount is approximately 60 billion KRW, marking its first order in Uzbekistan.

This additional order in Central Asia came just one week after signing a power plant construction contract worth 1.15 trillion KRW in Kazakhstan on the 15th.

The Sirdarya power plant, with a capacity of 1600MW, is being constructed in Sirdarya Province, located 150km south of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, with commercial operation targeted for 2026. Doosan Enerbility will supply a 500MW-class steam turbine and generator, among other equipment.

A Doosan Enerbility official stated, "Uzbekistan, which has the highest growth potential in Central Asia, is currently actively promoting infrastructure projects such as power generation and construction through public-private partnership (PPP) projects. We will strengthen our market penetration in Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries by leveraging this equipment supply contract as a stepping stone."
