Polaris Office's Document Security Threat Response Solution 'Polaris Watcher' Obtains GS Certification

Polaris Office announced on the 22nd that its document security threat response solution, ‘Polaris Watcher (Polaris Watcher v1.0),’ has received the highest grade 1 certification (GS Certification) from the Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA) of Korea.

Polaris Watcher is a security solution based on content disarm and reconstruction (CDR), an advanced threat prevention technology.

It analyzes the content of documents and image files that are difficult for traditional pattern-based antivirus solutions to handle, and can detect and remove hidden malicious code within files in advance. It removes harmful elements and reconstructs the original to ensure safe use. It can be used to solve security issues in various fields such as transmitting important documents and files, document centralization systems, and web/Email servers.

Polaris Watcher overcomes the limitations of existing CDR solutions by incorporating various new technologies such as ▲file tampering detection ▲support for various compression formats ▲multi-compression CDR processing technology in mixed forms to bypass CDR and antivirus ▲guaranteeing the integrity of the original document.

A representative of Polaris Office stated, “Polaris Watcher is a solution that combines years of accumulated office solution development technology and the latest security technology,” and added, “Based on the proven safety and technical capabilities demonstrated by obtaining GS Certification grade 1, we will supply the solution to various markets including the public sector.”

GS Certification is a national certification system that proves the quality of domestic software. It grants certification by evaluating nine items such as software functionality, reliability, performance efficiency, and usability according to ISO (International Organization for Standardization) international standards. GS-certified solutions are designated as priority products for adoption during the establishment and operation of administrative and public informatization projects.
