According to Yonhap News on the 21st, Nam-gu District Office in Daegu discharged baby A from the university hospital on the 17th and has placed him under the care of a foster family.

Earlier, on the 1st, mother B was urgently transferred from a hospital in Gumi, Gyeongbuk, to a university hospital in Daegu, where she gave birth to baby A via cesarean section. However, B said she would take baby A later, citing postpartum care reasons, and disappeared after being discharged.

Then, on the 13th, another woman, C, appeared claiming, "This is my child registered on the family register," and attempted to take baby A but failed. At that time, B also claimed to the medical staff, "This is my child registered on the family register," but the newborn room staff noticed that B and C looked different and reported them to the police.

The police found that B had used C’s personal information to be admitted to the hospital and receive treatment, and charged them with violating the National Health Insurance Act. The investigation revealed that the two met online, and C told B, "I will pay the hospital bills and raise the child."

The police believe that if there was an actual financial transaction between the two, charges of child trafficking could be applied.

Meanwhile, it is reported that B has not clearly expressed her intention to raise baby A.
