If Violations Are Found, a Fine of Up to 3 Million Won Will Be Imposed
Jindo Fire Station in Jeollanam-do (Chief Kim Gwang-seon) announced on the 21st that it will conduct surprise fire safety inspections of multi-use facilities in Jindo-gun in preparation for the spring season.
This surprise inspection is part of the spring fire prevention measures and will be carried out monthly by Jindo Fire Station from March to May.
The inspection targets multi-use establishments frequently visited by unspecified large numbers of people, including entertainment bars, karaoke bars, and singing practice rooms.
The main inspection items include △closure or locking of emergency exits △obstruction or placement of obstacles in evacuation stairs and passageways △checking the management status of fire doors and fire shutters △and verifying the normal operation of fire-fighting facilities.
If any violations are found during the surprise inspections, legal actions will be taken along with fines of up to 3 million won.
A Jindo Fire Station official urged, “We ask that those responsible for multi-use facilities actively cooperate in maintaining fire-fighting facilities and evacuation and fire prevention facilities.”
Kim Gwang-seon, Chief of Jindo Fire Station, said, “To minimize casualties, we plan to continuously conduct surprise inspections of emergency exits and other areas in multi-use facilities,” and added, “We hope facility managers will pay special attention to fire safety management in their daily operations and actively cooperate to prevent violations.”
