Booyoung Group announced on the 21st that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction and donation of Ujeong Dormitory at Yongsan Railroad High School in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

About 400 people attended the event, including Booyoung Group Chairman Lee Hee-beom, CEO Choi Yang-hwan, Seoul Superintendent of Education Cho Hee-yeon, Director of the Central Education Support Office Lim Gyu-hyung, and Principal of Yongsan Railroad High School Hong Min-pyo.
Chairman Lee Hee-beom said, "Following the belief of Booyoung Group’s founder Lee Jung-geun that education is a long-term plan for a hundred years (百年之大計), I hope students grow their dreams and hopes under the guidance of their teachers and become pillars (棟梁) who lead not only the local community but also the nation."
Principal Hong Min-pyo responded, "We thank Chairman Lee Jung-geun and all related parties for constructing and donating Ujeong Dormitory free of charge," adding, "Ujeong Dormitory will become a meaningful space that fulfills the true goal of education, which is nurturing talented individuals."
Ujeong Dormitory at Yongsan Railroad High School will be built with a total floor area of approximately 1,000㎡, consisting of three above-ground floors and a total of 28 rooms. The dormitory will be equipped with facilities such as a system air conditioner, community room, and laundry room.
So far, Booyoung Group has constructed and donated over 130 educational and cultural facilities nationwide, including dormitories, libraries, and gymnasiums at elementary, middle, and high schools, including Ujeong Dormitory named after Chairman Lee Jung-geun’s pen name 'Ujeong (宇庭)'. The group has also shown great interest in supporting university educational facilities, donating Ujeongwon buildings to 12 universities including Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University. Booyoung Group, practicing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management activities, has donated over 1 trillion won to society to date.
