Wando-gun Opens Era of 10 Million 'Marine Healing Tourists'

On the 30th, the Marine Healing Wando Tourism Vision Declaration Ceremony Will Be Held

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 21st that it will hold a vision proclamation ceremony for "Marine Healing Wando Tourism Leading a Healthy Life in Korea" at 2 p.m. on the 30th at the Wando-gun Life Culture Center.

The proclamation ceremony is expected to be attended by about 250 people, including domestic travel agencies and related organization officials, nationwide MZ experience groups such as influencers and YouTubers, cultural tourism interpreters and guides, food and lodging industry workers, members of the Wando-gun Tourism Development Association, and residents.

This year, before the full-scale operation of the Marine Healing Center, a core facility of the marine healing industry, and the hosting of large-scale events and festivals, the county prepared the proclamation ceremony to declare its tourism vision in order to enhance tourism awareness and competitiveness and revitalize the tourism industry.

The proclamation ceremony will begin with a pre-performance by a traditional Korean music ensemble, followed by a presentation on "Wando Tourism" by Governor Shin Woo-cheol, and the signing of a business agreement with domestic travel agencies and related organizations to promote marine healing Wando tourism.

Next, tourism honorary ambassadors such as influencers, YouTubers, power bloggers, and tourism photographers will be appointed for tourism promotion marketing, the Wando-gun Tourism Development Association will pledge to revitalize local tourism, and all attendees will participate in the vision proclamation and ceremony.

In particular, the county aims to make this event more than just a simple event by providing domestic travel agencies and representatives of related organizations with opportunities to experience Wando’s tourism resources such as marine healing and abalone picking, turning it into an opportunity for product development and promotion and marketing to attract domestic and international tourists.

A county official stated, "After the COVID-19 pandemic, we will open the era of ten million tourists by implementing marine healing Wando tourism policies that lead a healthy life in Korea in line with the endemic era."
