Ourhome Develops Cognitive Function Improvement Diet... Moves Toward Commercialization

Ourhome announced on the 21st that it has developed and is commercializing a cognitive function improvement management diet for the elderly.

The cognitive function improvement management diet was developed by limiting the use of ingredients high in dietary fiber and restricting ingredients with high saturated fatty acids and trans fatty acids content, focusing on nutrients essential for brain health. The diet was designed by Ourhome and supervised by Professor Park Yu-kyung of the Department of Medical Nutrition at Kyung Hee University.

A nutritionist from Ourhome is introducing the 'Cognitive Function Improvement Management Diet' to elderly facility users at Hanseo Daycare Center located in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

Since the 2nd, Ourhome has started a clinical trial to verify the effectiveness of the cognitive function improvement management diet on over 100 elderly people aged 65 and older at seven elderly day care centers located in the metropolitan area for 12 weeks. The elderly group is divided into ▲general diet intake group ▲cognitive function improvement management diet intake group ▲cognitive function improvement management diet intake + cognitive training program combined group, and physical function tests, blood tests, and cognitive function changes are being measured according to the conditions.

After completing the 12-week clinical trial, Ourhome plans to proceed with commercialization after a diet supplementation process based on the results. The developed cognitive function improvement management diet is expected to be utilized in nursing homes, long-term care hospitals, and day and night care centers.

An Ourhome official said, "As the elderly population increases, prevention and management through diet are becoming more important," adding, "Through this research and development, we will actively pursue securing business competitiveness targeting the elderly as well as developing differentiated diets that help health."
