Protecting Lawns in Spring Until April 24
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam will temporarily close the Sacheon Aerospace Park Golf Course, located within the Aerospace Theme Park, for about one month from March 27 to April 24 to protect the spring grass.
This temporary closure is intended not only to properly manage the grass growth conditions but also to expand other convenience facilities (management office, storage) to provide a better environment for park golf users.
The city completed the Sacheon Aerospace Park Golf Course, a 9-hole course (L=569m), in the Yesu-ri 420 area of Jeongdong-myeon to promote citizens' physical fitness and activate park golf.
This park golf course was created by utilizing idle land in the Aerospace Theme Park with a project cost of 150 million KRW and officially opened on January 2.
Those interested can apply for reservations by accessing the ‘Public Sports Facilities Homepage’ through the Sacheon City website or by visiting the ‘Sacheon Sports Facilities Integrated Homepage’ online.
Park golf is a communication sport where players freely hit the ball and compete on a small area about 1/50 or 1/100 the size of a regular golf course without burden.
Also, although the rules are similar to regular golf, the game format is easier and the necessary equipment is simple, making it a suitable sport for the whole family to enjoy.
A city official stated, “Since the grass growth condition in spring may deteriorate, this unavoidable measure is taken, and after the closure ends, we will prepare so that park golf can be enjoyed in a better environment.”
