Geu In-mo, Geochang County Governor, Takes Action to Prevent Wildfires Through Smart Village Broadcasting

Direct Appeal for Wildfire Prevention to All Residents

Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang County in Gyeongnam, used the smart village broadcasting system independently developed by the county to deliver a voice broadcast urging all residents to prevent forest fires.

Gu In-mo, the governor of Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam, is making a wildfire prevention request broadcast through the smart village broadcasting system.

The smart village broadcasting system in Geochang County, Gyeongnam, allows sending voice and text messages via smartphones or tablet PCs. Under normal circumstances, village chiefs and eup/myeon officials share village news and administrative information, while in emergency situations such as disasters, the county mayor directly sends broadcasts.

Amid recent large-scale forest fires causing extensive damage in Yongju-myeon, Hapcheon County, and Hwagae-myeon, Hadong County, on the 20th, Mayor Gu urged through the broadcast, “Forest fires occur due to minor carelessness, so special caution is required. In particular, all burning activities are strictly prohibited, and farmers using wood-fired boilers are requested to manage ash residues thoroughly.”

The smart village broadcast can be heard by answering calls made to the representative number, and non-subscribers can apply for subscription at the village chief’s office or eup/myeon administrative welfare center to receive various information such as village news.
