Lotte Mart Launches Detroit Pizza... "Taste of the American Mainland"

Lotte Mart announced on the 21st that it will launch two types of Detroit pizza for the first time among large discount stores on the 23rd.

Lotte Mart's pizza specialty brand Cheese & Dough will sell the 'Detroit Margherita' and 'Detroit Boston Shrimp' pizzas, each 11 inches in size, for 15,800 KRW and 16,800 KRW respectively.

The pizza merchandiser (MD) at Lotte Mart collaborated with a Western cuisine chef from the Food Innovation Center (FIC) to develop the thick, crispy-on-the-outside and moist-on-the-inside dough unique to Detroit pizza. Through market research of famous restaurants and multiple dough tests over six months, they increased the amount of bread flour and lowered the fermentation point to develop Lotte Mart's exclusive thick and moist dough.

The Detroit Margherita uses fresh mozzarella pearls, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni, and basil to optimally recreate the original Detroit flavor with a refreshing tomato taste. The Detroit Boston Shrimp is an upgraded version of the popular One Pound Shrimp pizza, featuring Boston seasoning marinated shrimp to deliver a rich seafood flavor.

A Lotte Mart representative said, "This new product is the first Detroit pizza launched by a large discount store," adding, "We will strive to provide customers with more choices and new taste experiences."
