Reduce Distribution Steps to Lower Prices
Emart announced on the 21st that it will hold a 'Global Fresh Food Festival' sourcing representative overseas food products from the 23rd to the 29th.
In this event, Norwegian salted mackerel (around 850g) will be sold for 5,980 KRW, and prepared Norwegian mackerel fillets (900g) will be sold for 9,980 KRW with Shinsegae Points accumulation. The event price for Norwegian salted mackerel is 13.3% cheaper compared to the average retail price of domestic mackerel at 6,893 KRW. Emart has significantly increased the supply of Norwegian salted mackerel as a substitute for the sharply rising domestic mackerel prices, directly importing from local shipping companies to reduce distribution steps and lower prices.
They also prepared food products through direct sourcing cooperation with the United States. U.S. Choice grade boneless short ribs (100g) are sold at a 30% discount with Shinsegae Points accumulation, and an additional 10% discount is available when paying in full with a KB card. Emart was able to present this discount event by securing about 30 tons of raw meat, five times the usual monthly amount, in advance.
An Emart representative said, "Through our global sourcing expertise, we will continue to bring in representative overseas food products at affordable prices."
