Jeonbuk Bank Ranks First in Total Bank Transfers
In February, among the five major domestic commercial banks excluding policy-based low-income financial services, KB Kookmin Bank was found to have the highest household loan-deposit interest rate spread. Additionally, among all banks including regional banks and internet-only banks, Jeonbuk Bank recorded the highest level.
According to the Korea Federation of Banks on the 20th, KB Kookmin Bank's household loan-deposit interest rate spread based on new transaction amounts last month (excluding Sunshine Loan Bank, Sunshine Loan 15, and safety net loans) was disclosed at 1.48%. Although this is a 0.03 percentage point decrease from the previous month (1.51%), it remains the highest among the five major commercial banks.
Following were NH Nonghyup Bank (1.46%), Woori Bank (1.46%), Hana Bank (1.32%), and Shinhan Bank (1.06%). Nonghyup Bank's interest rate spread increased by 0.02 percentage points compared to the previous month, while Woori, Hana, and Shinhan Banks rose by 0.39, 0.29, and 0.22 percentage points respectively.
Other banks ranked as follows: sh Suhyup Bank (2.18%), SC First Bank (1.26%), IBK Industrial Bank of Korea (1.13%), and KDB Industrial Bank (1.05%).
Among internet-only banks, Toss Bank had the highest spread at 4.90%. K Bank (2.04%) and Kakao Bank (1.15%) maintained relatively lower levels.
Among all general banks including regional banks, Jeonbuk Bank had the highest loan-deposit interest rate spread at 6.48%. Other regional banks ranked as Gwangju Bank (4.52%), DGB Daegu Bank (2.65%), BNK Gyeongnam Bank (2.52%), Jeju Bank (2.02%), and BNK Busan Bank (1.53%).
When including corporate loans, Hana Bank had the highest overall loan-deposit interest rate spread at 1.91% among the five major banks. Following were NH Nonghyup and Woori Banks (1.81%), Kookmin Bank (1.76%), and Shinhan Bank (1.40%).
