Moore ranked 49th in the men's weekly world golf rankings announced on the 20th, with a rating of 1.9376. He jumped 54 spots from 103rd place last week. Since starting on the PGA Tour in the 2021-2022 season, this is the first time Moore has entered the "elite group" within the top 50 in the world rankings.
He finished at 10-under-par 274 to claim the title at the PGA Tour Valspar Championship (total prize money $8.1 million), held at the Copperhead Course (par 71) at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. In the final round, he shot 4-under-par 67 to overturn Adam Schenk (USA, 9-under-par 275) by one stroke for the victory. Moore earned his first trophy in his 46th PGA Tour event and took home the winner's prize of $1,458,000 (approximately 1.9 billion KRW).
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler (USA) retained his top spot, and the other top-ranked players including Jon Rahm (Spain), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Patrick Cantlay (USA), and Cameron Smith (Australia) saw no changes in their rankings. Among Korean players, Im Sung-jae (25) remained 18th, Kim Joo-hyung (21) stayed 19th, and Kim Si-woo (28) held 39th place, while Lee Kyoung-hoon (32) slightly improved from 43rd to 40th.
Meanwhile, players who transferred to the LIV Golf Invitational Series sponsored by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) lost world ranking points and dropped in the rankings. Mark Leishman (Australia), Paul Casey (England), and Louis Oosthuizen (South Africa) all fell outside the top 100, and Danny Lee (New Zealand), who won the second LIV Golf event of the 2023 season, ranked only 267th.
