Samsung Securities announced on the 20th that the number of subscribers to 'RoboGulling,' launched in April last year to ease investors' concerns, has surpassed 11,000.
The 'Gulling' in RoboGulling means rolling money, and it is a robo algorithm service that provides the optimal portfolio tailored to the investor's investment purpose, investment period, investment method, and target rate of return. Subscribers in their 40s and 50s accounted for 61%, indicating that more experienced investors joined rather than beginners with little investment experience. Additionally, 25.8% of RoboGulling users were asset holders with financial assets exceeding 50 million KRW, confirming their strong demand for systematic portfolio investment.
The biggest advantage of RoboGulling lies in diversified investment that does not concentrate on specific financial products. The portfolios suggested by RoboGulling consist of domestic and international funds, and if the initial design amount is 500,000 KRW or more, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) may be additionally included. The portfolio, composed of domestic and international equity assets, bond assets, and alternative assets, proposes a minimum of three to a maximum of seven products to ensure sufficient diversification effects. Furthermore, RoboGulling is a hyper-personalized customized service that proposes portfolios reflecting the investor's past investment patterns, and investors can adjust the investment ratio of specific products or add or exclude products according to their preferences.
An analysis of the performance of customers who invested through RoboGulling showed that 77.8% of accounts achieved excess returns compared to the KOSPI. Most investors using RoboGulling (from the subscription point to February 28, 2023) showed better performance than the KOSPI index. RoboGulling not only proposes portfolios but also thoroughly manages post-investment follow-up. Investors can receive timely customized post-management through rebalancing by flexibly adjusting weights according to market conditions and performance. In line with the non-face-to-face era, investors can conveniently receive current portfolio performance and proposals via KakaoTalk notifications and easily rebalance.
