During the event, 4,320 two-year-old azalea saplings were planted over an area of 1 hectare in the Seongnam-ri area of Muan-eup. Along with the opening ceremony of the Mulmaji Healing Forest, a tree distribution event and a wildfire prevention campaign were also conducted.

The county promoted the newly opened Mulmaji Healing Forest and encouraged voluntary participation from residents to spread the atmosphere of tree planting, raising awareness among residents about the importance and value of forests in the era of climate crisis.

Additionally, this year, the county plans to create a total of 45 hectares of forest through economic tree planting projects covering 25 hectares and regionally specialized afforestation of 10 hectares, striving to enhance the public and economic value of forests.

Governor Kim San said, “By planting and nurturing trees with our own hands, we will personally practice carbon neutrality and raise awareness of the necessity of forests,” adding, “I hope residents regain vitality and find joy through tree planting amid their tiring daily lives.”
