Baemin Introduces Optimized Group Delivery for Orders with Similar Routes

Introduced in 'Baemin1'... Rider Route Tracking Also Available

Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok (Baemin) led by CEO Lee Guk-hwan, announced on the 20th that it will launch a new delivery service called 'Altteul Delivery' on 'Baemin1'. Altteul Delivery features Baemin taking full responsibility for delivery just like the existing Baemin1 single-store delivery, while implementing optimal bundled delivery based on delivery routes to reduce delivery cost burdens for both restaurants and consumers.

When using Altteul Delivery, merchants only need to pay 2,500 to 3,300 KRW (excluding VAT) for delivery fees. Baemin plans to flexibly apply discount rates within this range considering delivery prices in each region. The delivery tip paid by consumers varies depending on order amount, distance, order time, and region, but is expected to be around 2,000 KRW on average, which is lower than the existing Baemin1 single-store delivery.

Altteul Delivery will be piloted in mid-next month in Daegu, Incheon, and some areas of Gyeonggi Province, and then the service area will be gradually expanded. Both existing Baemin1 merchants and new merchants can apply to use the service.

Woowa Brothers expects Altteul Delivery to retain the advantages of single delivery while reducing the disadvantage of high delivery costs. Like the existing Baemin1 single-store delivery, Altteul Delivery allows users to check the rider’s route and estimated arrival time. Customer service related to delivery is also handled by Baemin.

Altteul Delivery proposes the optimal route to reach customers based on data accumulated by Baemin and delivery efficiency technologies. In particular, for delivery orders with similar routes, orders are bundled to enable delivery with minimal travel distance. Consumers can choose between single delivery and Altteul Delivery when ordering food on Baemin1, considering delivery costs and delivery time.

Kwon Jae-hong, head of Woowa Brothers’ business division, said, "We have been striving to reduce the delivery cost burden for consumers and merchants while providing Baemin’s high-quality delivery service." He added, "We hope that Altteul Delivery will allow people to order and receive food more diversely and conveniently."
