1,433 Applications Received for 1,000 Household Recruitment Successfully Completed
It has been revealed that 1,433 households applied for the jeonse deposit loan interest support project out of 1,000 newlywed households recruited in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam.
The support provides up to 1 million KRW within 1.2% of the jeonse deposit loan balance to newlyweds without a house, and families with children can receive up to 1.5 million KRW by adding 20% per child to the support amount.
Looking at the detailed breakdown by district, there were 375 cases in Seongsan-gu, 350 in Jinhae-gu, 330 in Uichang-gu, 211 in Masanhappo-gu, and 167 in Masanhoewon-gu.
By eup, myeon, and dong, applications were submitted in the order of Ungdong 2-dong with 182 cases, Buk-myeon with 150 cases, Sapa-dong with 123 cases, Wolyeong-dong with 104 cases, and Uichang-dong with 72 cases. In particular, Sapa-dong saw the largest increase with 57 more cases compared to the previous year.
Newlyweds tend to seek residential convenience in newly built apartments or large apartment complexes rather than in outskirts or densely populated housing areas, and prefer locations with developed transportation such as main roads that are advantageous for proximity between home and workplace.
Since 2019, the city has supported 4,107 newlywed households without a house with 3.1 billion KRW to alleviate the actual housing cost burden, and this year, it has allocated a budget of 1 billion KRW to continue the support.
Kim, a newlywed in the third year of marriage, said, “I applied last year and this year and have been receiving support. Especially this year, the jeonse loan interest rose significantly, causing great concern, but thanks to the city’s support, I can breathe easier.”
Mayor Hong Nampyo said, “The burden of buying a home due to rising housing prices and increased loan interest is affecting young people’s marriage and childbirth,” and added, “We will make multifaceted efforts to stabilize housing for the youth.”
The city plans to verify the eligibility of interest support application documents in April and deposit the support funds individually in May. Additionally, in the second half of the year, a new policy will be introduced to support loan interest for newlyweds purchasing homes.
