Busan Office of Education Holds Training for 'Parent Happiness School'

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will operate the ‘Parent Happiness School’ training from March to December to emphasize the role and responsibility of parents for the proper growth of their children and the realization of happy family relationships, as well as to help understand Busan education policies.


The Busan Office of Education has selected customized topics requested by parents for this training and invited famous professional lecturers to conduct special lectures. The training locations and topics will also be diversified.


The training topics are composed by reflecting parents’ interests and the direction of Busan education policies, including ▲student character education and academic improvement ▲parent-child communication ▲Morning Change (體仁智) ▲proper child-rearing ▲future digital education.


To reduce educational disparities between regions, the training locations will be diversified to Seo-gu, Saha-gu, Buk-gu, Haeundae, etc., and the schedule will be arranged in the morning, afternoon, and evening according to the training topics and parents’ requests. Training will also be held on weekends to provide time to spend with students.

The first session of the Parent Happiness School will be held over two days on March 31 and April 1 at the main auditorium of the Busan Education Research and Information Institute, with the training titled ‘Mastering the Self-Study Method with Parents.’


On this day, lecturer Han Jae-woo, author of ‘The Principles of Studying Alone,’ will be invited to reflect Busan Office of Education’s character-based academic improvement and to build consensus on self-directed learning.


Kang Jun-hyun, head of the Student and Parent Support Division at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “We hope that this training will help lead happy Busan education by jointly considering various issues for happy family relationships and providing better parent education to parents.”
