When Reporters Ask, 'Poop' Emoji Auto-Response... Musk's Eccentric Behavior

No reason has been disclosed

Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, has sparked controversy by setting up an automatic reply of a 'poop emoji' to journalists who send inquiry emails.

On the 19th (local time), Musk announced on his Twitter, "From now on, the Twitter press response email (press@twitter.com) will automatically reply with a poop emoji."

To verify the authenticity of this absurd measure, media outlets that sent emails to Twitter actually received poop emoji replies, leading to reactions of disbelief.

The American economic media Forbes reported that day, "If you are a journalist reaching out to Twitter's press department, you will now receive an automatic reply in the form of a poop emoji."

It also stated, "Musk is the boss, and he can run Twitter as he wishes," while indirectly criticizing Musk's eccentric behavior.

The outlet noted, "Last December, he conducted a Twitter poll asking whether he should step down as company representative, which he overwhelmingly lost. At that time, he also sent emails asking who should replace him as CEO. Although he did not receive a reply then, now he will only get poop emoji responses."

Additionally, Business Insider pointed out, "After months of silence following Musk's acquisition of Twitter, he has finally resumed communication with journalists," but warned, "However, one should not expect actual answers to questions about mass layoffs, declining ad revenue, or lawsuits."

The New York Post criticized, "Musk has provided a preview of Twitter's new media relations approach," adding, "His 'excretion strategy' was neither sarcastic nor exaggerated. Emails sent to him were immediately responded to with a nauseating symbol without any accompanying words."

After acquiring Twitter in October last year, Musk fired all existing media relations staff and stopped replying to emails. This effectively ended official communication with the press, and about five months later, he implemented the 'poop emoji' measure.

However, he did not specify the reasons behind this action.
