Safety inspection results confirm reconstruction with an E grade (43.19 points) without the need for adequacy review
Third complex in Dobong-gu to pass safety inspection since government relaxed safety inspection standards
The reconstruction project of Ssangmun Hanyang 1st Apartment in Dobong-gu has been launched in earnest.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced on the 16th that Ssangmun Hanyang 1st Apartment has finally passed the reconstruction safety inspection, confirming the reconstruction.
Ssangmun Hanyang 1st is a complex with 8 buildings and 824 households, up to 14 floors, completed in 1986. It is the fastest among the reconstruction promotion complexes in the area where residents requested a safety inspection and passed the on-site investigation (July 2017).
After passing the on-site investigation, residents completed fundraising for the safety inspection costs, and while conducting the safety inspection service in October last year, the government revised and implemented the safety inspection standards for housing reconstruction judgments on January 5th.
Accordingly, Ssangmun Hanyang 1st applied the government's relaxed reconstruction safety inspection standards and received an E grade (43.19 points) in the safety inspection, becoming the third complex in Dobong-gu to confirm reconstruction after the regulatory relaxation without the need for a ‘public institution adequacy review’.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Following Banghak Shindong-A 1st Complex and Changdong Sanga 1st Complex, this is already the third complex to confirm reconstruction, and the reconstruction projects of aged apartment complexes in Dobong-gu are progressing successfully.” He added, “To facilitate the smooth promotion of reconstruction projects and provide detailed information on the progress of projects by building, we will hold the ‘Dobong-gu Maintenance Project Resident Briefing Session’ at Dobong-gu Office on April 7. We hope many residents will attend and look forward to the future of Dobong together.”
Seodaemun-gu strengthens fire safety of new buildings by expanding functions of the Building Safety Center
During building permits, center’s experts (architects) review compliance with fire safety standards
If there are deficiencies, building owners are notified to take follow-up actions
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 20th that the ‘Seodaemun-gu Building Safety Center’ will expand its technical review scope to include fire safety for new buildings.
The center has been performing tasks such as ▲technical review of permit design documents ▲safety inspections of construction sites and aged buildings ▲technical support and information provision related to safety through experts in architecture, structure, and technology including architects and technical engineers.
Going forward, during building permits, the center will review compliance with fire safety standards and quality test reports for ‘fire-vulnerable buildings.’ If there are deficiencies, building owners will be notified to ensure follow-up actions are taken.
‘Fire-vulnerable buildings’ include multi-use and semi-multi-use buildings, buildings used for multi-use businesses, buildings with basements or pilotis structures, buildings located in fire protection districts, and buildings requiring elevator installation.
Additionally, the Building Safety Center will review whether construction supervision, construction supervision logs, and interim and completion reports during supervision are properly conducted for necessary buildings.
Mayor Lee Seong-heon said, “We are expanding the scope of the Building Safety Center’s work to preemptively block fire risk factors in buildings,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen the management system to create a safer Seodaemun-gu.”
