Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 19th that it will support heating costs for four months during the winter season for households using district heating that fall into the blind spots of various support measures. The expected support amount is up to 592,000 KRW per household.

The support targets are basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, and multi-child households using district heating supplied by LH’s collective energy business in the southwestern Daejeon area and Asan Baebang·Tangjeong areas in Chungnam.
For basic livelihood security recipients and the near-poverty class, support of up to 592,000 KRW, including energy vouchers, will be provided for heating costs used over four months from December last year to March. Persons with disabilities and national merit recipients will receive 10,000 KRW per month, and multi-child households will receive 8,000 KRW per month for heating costs.
LH plans to finalize detailed support plans by the end of next month and establish a 'District Heating Fee Reduction Application' system to start accepting applications from May. Detailed application procedures and methods will be announced later through the LH website and management offices within the complexes.
Lee Han-jun, President of LH, said, "I hope this heating cost support will help stabilize the lives of vulnerable groups receiving district heating from LH, even if just a little."
Meanwhile, LH has been operating collective energy facilities in the southwestern Daejeon and Asan Baebang·Tangjeong districts since 2011, currently supplying district heating to about 61,000 apartment households. Following the government’s LH innovation plan in June 2021, the process of selling the collective energy business is underway.
