[Weather] Daily Temperature Difference Over 15 Degrees... Fine Dust 'Bad' in the Seoul Metropolitan Area

Morning low temperatures expected between -2 and 9 degrees, daytime highs between 12 and 21 degrees

On Monday the 20th, with a large temperature difference between day and night, fine dust concentration will be high enough to implement emergency reduction measures in the Seoul metropolitan area.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the morning low temperature on this day will be between -2 and 9 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperature will be between 12 and 21 degrees Celsius, about 2 degrees higher than today (low of -4 to 7 degrees, high of 10 to 19 degrees). The temperature in Seoul is forecasted to be a morning low of 3 degrees and a daytime high of 16 degrees.


The temperature difference between day and night is expected to be very large, exceeding 15 degrees, especially inland.


Fine dust concentrations will be 'bad' in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong region, Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk, while other regions will show 'normal' levels. Temporarily in the morning, Incheon will have 'very bad' levels, and Jeonnam, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and Jeju areas are expected to have 'bad' levels.


Accordingly, emergency fine dust reduction measures will be implemented in the Seoul metropolitan area including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the 20th, restricting the operation of grade 5 vehicles.


In the morning, dense fog is expected mainly along the west coast.


Sea waves will be 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5 meters in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the South Sea coastal waters.


Wave heights in the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline) of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters.
