According to the police on the 19th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit has completed the analysis of materials seized from Yoo's residence and the hospital where he was administered propofol, and is coordinating the schedule for a suspect investigation of Yoo.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Narcotics Crime Investigation Unit summoned Yoo's manager and an acquaintance as witnesses on the 13th and 14th, respectively. It was confirmed that this acquaintance traveled to the United States with Yoo Ah-in last month.
Based on the analysis of the seized materials and testimonies from the manager and other acquaintances, the police are expected to verify the circumstances and timing of Yoo's drug use.
Yoo is suspected of habitual propofol use and drug use involving four types of narcotics, including marijuana, cocaine, and ketamine.
Earlier, the police launched an investigation based on a request from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, which detected an abnormally high number of propofol prescriptions for Yoo Ah-in. According to the Ministry, Yoo was administered more than 4,400 ml of propofol over 73 sessions in 2021 alone. Based on this, the police believe Yoo used propofol more than 100 times up until last year.
