Park Yong-jin "Moon Jae-in, 'If the party changes, makes decisions, and unites, it will gain trust'"

Meeting at Yangsan Residence on the 17th
Moon Advises "If the Democratic Party Overcomes Difficulties and Unites,
Good Results Will Follow"

Democratic Party lawmaker Park Yong-jin recently met with President Moon Jae-in and shared opinions about the Democratic Party's situation ahead of next year's general election, he revealed on the 19th.

On that day, Park wrote on Facebook, "Last Friday (17th) afternoon, I met President Moon Jae-in at his residence in Yangsan," adding, "I felt sorry as I thought about the reality our party is currently facing."

Park told President Moon, "The Democratic Party's victory in the general election is not only to resist the oppression led by the Yoon Seok-yeol government through the prosecution, but also to prevent the collapse of the achievements of the Moon Jae-in administration, which cared about the lives, health, and future of our people, and to stop South Korea from regressing." Regarding this, President Moon encouraged him by saying, "'If the Democratic Party changes a little, makes some decisions, and shows unity around that, the general election next year will gain the trust of the people.'"

Park added that President Moon also advised, "'What is important in politics is not the adversity or difficult conditions themselves, but how one overcomes them, and the people are watching that. If the Democratic Party overcomes the current difficulties well and unites, there will be good results.'"

Park emphasized, "Ultimately, the Democratic Party must perform well in this general election to restore and progressively inherit the policies that brought about a silent revolution in the lives of the Korean people during our past government," and added, "Following the President's words, I will also take responsibility and work hard toward a slightly changed Democratic Party, a party that changes through certain decisions and moves toward a renewed and united appearance."
