Gimpo, Goyang, and Paju Connected Metropolitan City Tour to Begin Trial Operation as Early as July

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will develop and operate a tourism product linking Gimpo, Goyang, and Paju starting from July.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will launch the 'Gyeonggi Northwest Metropolitan City Tour' project starting this July.

On the 19th, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 17th at Goyang City Hall in Gyeonggi Province with Gimpo, Goyang, and Paju to pilot the 'Gyeonggi Northwest Metropolitan City Tour.'

According to the agreement, the organization and the three cities will establish a mutual cooperation system and regional tourism cooperation governance (public management) to ensure the successful operation of the 'Gyeonggi Northwest Metropolitan City Tour.'

In particular, this project is a follow-up initiative developed after expert consulting following the selection of the 'Gimpo City Tour Operation' task. It focuses on developing, operating, and promoting metropolitan city tour routes in the northwest Gyeonggi region?Gimpo, Goyang, and Paju?where synergy effects are expected by linking major tourist resources.

A representative from the organization stated, "By promoting the pilot project of the Gyeonggi Northwest Metropolitan City Tour connecting Gimpo, Goyang, and Paju, we aim to integrate and discover the fragmented tourist resources of northwest Gyeonggi." They added, "Through the realization of northwest tourism ESG governance, we will actively attract domestic and international tourists to visit Gyeonggi Province."

Meanwhile, the Gyeonggi Northwest Metropolitan City Tour will be designed with regular routes connecting representative tourist sites across two or more cities such as Gimpo, Goyang, and Paju, as well as planned routes reflecting city and county events and tourism trends. After a public recruitment for operators in June, full-scale operations will begin in July.
