Goryeong-gun and Yeongyang-gun Wildfires Occur Consecutively

Wildfires have broken out consecutively in Goryeong-gun and Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, prompting forestry authorities to carry out firefighting operations.

At around 1:37 PM on the 18th, a fire started on a hill in Songgok-ri, Dasan-myeon, Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province.

Forestry authorities have deployed one helicopter and 32 firefighters to extinguish the fire.

Earlier that day, at around 1:11 PM, a fire broke out on a hill near Nodal-ri, Ipam-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province.

Six helicopters and 58 firefighters have been dispatched to the scene and are currently engaged in firefighting efforts.

Forestry authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fires and the extent of the damage once the firefighting operations are completed.
