According to Business Insider, O'Brien, who runs a YouTube channel, earned more than $400,000 (about 523.8 million KRW) annually around the time his subscriber count exceeded 1 million. The main source of income for creators running YouTube channels is advertising. To attach ads to videos or apply channel memberships, one must first join YouTube's monetization program, the "YouTube Partner Program (YPP)." There are eligibility requirements: at least 1,000 subscribers and a total public watch time of over 4,000 hours. Creators who meet these requirements can receive ad revenue per view.
