Following its support for the successful hosting of Korea’s first International Garden Expo held in Suncheon in 2013, POSCO Group decided to support the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo, which runs for seven months starting from April this year.

For this expo, POSCO Group companies and partner firms located in Gwangyang City, including Gwangyang Steelworks, purchased a total of about 420 million KRW worth of admission tickets (approximately 35,137 tickets) to wish for the successful hosting of the expo.

POSCO Group plans to actively practice the spirit of a ‘corporate citizen growing together with the community’ by supporting the success of the International Garden Expo held in Suncheon.

In particular, the tickets purchased by Gwangyang Steelworks will be distributed not only to its employees but also to neighbors in need, making this support for the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo and warm sharing with the local community even more meaningful.

Lee Jin-su, Head of Gwangyang Steelworks, said, “I hope this Suncheonman International Garden Expo will serve as an opportunity for our local community to develop further,” adding, “Going forward, Gwangyang Steelworks will continue to carry out various social contribution projects to walk alongside our neighbors.”

Meanwhile, following its support for the Suncheonman International Garden Expo, Gwangyang Steelworks is actively striving for mutual growth with the local community by installing outdoor advertisements in high foot traffic areas within the district to support the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo and collaborating with the Suncheonman International Garden Expo to conduct advertising and promotion using the expo’s media wall.
