"Flower Viewing Crowds Peak in First Week of April... Preference for 'Jinhae Cherry Blossoms'"

The crowd seeking to enjoy spring flowers this year is expected to peak in the first week of April, according to a survey. Travelers chose Jinhae in Gyeongnam, famous for its cherry blossoms, as the most desired travel destination.

Travel and leisure platform Yanolja announced on the 17th that, based on a survey of 1,064 users of its application regarding 'spring flower travel plans,' 27.7% of respondents said they would travel to see spring flowers in the first week of next month, ranking first. The average travel duration was recorded as 2.13 days.


The top travel destination was a famous cherry blossom spot. Among respondents planning domestic travel, the largest portion, 29.7%, said they would visit Jinhae. Jinhae is a representative travel destination that hosts the 'Jinhae Gunhangje Festival,' attracting many flower viewing tourists. This year, the festival, postponed due to COVID-19, will resume after four years.


Following that, Jeju, famous for its canola flowers, attracted 20.0%, and Seoul, home to various cherry blossom spots, drew 18.7% as popular flower viewing destinations. Regions famous for cherry blossoms such as Gyeongju and Yeosu also showed high preference.
