Selling Gmarket Global Shop Products on Russian E-commerce Platforms through 'Popinborder'
Cosmetics platform company CTK's subsidiary CTK eVision announced on the 17th that it has signed a service contract to link and sell products from Gmarket's direct purchase mall 'Gmarket Global Shop' on Russia's leading e-commerce platform JOOM through its cross-border e-commerce platform 'PopinBorder'.
CTK eVision has been focusing on direct purchase services that link overseas brands and suppliers' products to domestic marketplaces through the PopinBorder platform. Through the service contract with Gmarket, it will officially start a reverse direct purchase service that sells domestic products on overseas e-commerce platforms.
They began by linking and selling fashion products such as clothing and shoes from Gmarket Global Shop on JOOM. They plan to expand the range of target products to various categories in the future. JOOM is a leading direct purchase e-commerce platform in Russia, selling products from various countries including Korea, China, and Japan to consumers not only in Russia but also in Europe. Korean cosmetics, clothing, and K-pop related products are highly popular.
Kim Min-sik, CEO of CTK eVision, said, "We were the first to start the direct purchase project that enabled overseas brands to sell directly on domestic marketplaces with Gmarket," adding, "We are also the first to start the reverse direct purchase service." He continued, "Starting with the JOOM linkage, we will strengthen cooperation to enable Gmarket products to be listed on leading e-commerce platforms," and added, "Beginning with targeting the European market through the PopinBorder and JOOM linkage, we will continue to expand the reverse direct purchase project that sells domestic products worldwide."
CTK eVision's PopinBorder launched its service in 2021 with a project that automatically linked and sold products from iHerb, the world's largest wellness product distribution company, on Gmarket and other eBay Korea systems. The service allowed popular overseas brands and suppliers to link directly to Korea's leading marketplaces through their own systems and sell directly. With the service contract with Gmarket, the reverse direct purchase service that links domestic products to overseas e-commerce platforms has also officially started.
